The Free 2 Write Program hosts writing workshops for California's incarcerated men, women, and youth. The goal of Free 2 Write is liberation through imagination. Each month prisoners study a particular form of writing. They then create their own works and receive feedback from the program mentor and fellow inmates during the next month's session. The workshops explore poetry, essays, screenplays, stage plays, short stories, novellas, novels, memoirs, and autobiographies.
